英語で天気予報を

Web版 “New York Times” の天気予報 “5-Day Forecast”を覗いてみました。天気マーク，最高／最低気温（親切に摂氏も）と共に 簡単な予報文が付いています。
読んでみました。 

‘A couple of showers and a heavy t-storm’
“a couple of”というのは 映画で よくアメリカ人が言っています。「２，３の」というより「少しの」という意味でしょう。
“t-storm”は “thunderstorm”で 雷雨のことですね。“storm”で 既に 「激しい」雨だと思いますが，“heavy”が付いています。

‘Hot with sunshine and patchy clouds’
“patchy”は「パッチ」ですね。「まだら模様」で「部分的」ということでしょうか。

‘Pleasant with some sun’
“pleasant”は 主観的な表現のようですが，快適ということですね。 

‘Partly sunny and warm’
“partly”は “patchy” と，ちょっと違うのでしょうね。   

‘Not as warm; spotty afternoon showers’
珍しく 午後なんて時刻の表現が入っています。

‘Low clouds followed by some sun’ 
難しいですね。太陽は1個なのに “some”ですね。「太陽が雲を追いかける。」ので 「曇りのち 晴れ」でしょうか。

‘Low clouds giving way to sunshine’   
「雲が陽光に道を譲る。」で 「曇りのち晴れ」？ 前述と どう違う？    

‘Areas of low clouds and fog’   
“areas”で始まる予報もあります。   

‘Sunny’
潔いです。

‘Mostly sunny and nice’
日本の天気予報では「良い」という言葉は使わないそうですが（職業によっては 「晴れ」 必ずしも「良い天気」ではないから），sunny で nice です。     

‘Humid with periods of rain’   
‘Cloudy; showers around, breezy and humid’
‘Humid with rain’ 
‘Mostly cloudy, a shower in the afternoon’      
ジメジメした予報ですね。全てTokyoの予報です・
